I am behind on reviewing my Glossyboxes. The January one arrived a little later than normal and then the February one arrived a week later so I was confused as to which one was January and which one was February. Now that I have it all figured out let’s get on with this review.
As most of you know from reading my past blogs, this box is my favorite. Hands down. The thing I like most about this box is the higher end products that I receive in it. I have mature skin (a nice way of saying I’m a little older) and am looking for products that are good to my skin with ingredients that actually make the skin better. This box delivers on what I’m looking for every month. I’m officially hooked. Plus I absolutely love the little pamphlet that comes with it every month explaining what every product is and how to use it.
The first thing I tried in this box was the Vichy Purete’ Thermale 3-In-1 One Step Cleanser. It is advertised as a cleansing milk, toner and make-up remover in one. I really wanted to love this cleanser, especially because right now my skin is dryer thanks to the cold Michigan winter and because I’m also currently on Accutane. Well, I didn’t love it. I wear waterproof mascara and it didn’t even touch my mascara in terms of removal plus I felt like I had a film on my face after removing it. Maybe I’m old fashioned when it comes to cleansers because I prefer one that washes off with water. If you want to try it, go for it. It was named 2014’s best cleanser for normal skin by Allure’s Best of Beauty so someone out there must really like it.
I love a good eye pencil, especially one that is creamy and goes on pretty easily but doesn’t smear down my face. Meet Lollipops Eye Pencil In Goodbye Moon. It is a dark black that they say has a metallic finish but I really don’t see the metallic anywhere in the finish, which I’m happy about. I’d rather not have a metallic sheen. I used it on my waterline and it didn’t budge.
With so many makeup brushes on the market I love getting a new brand to try that I haven’t tried before. This month I received the Teeez Trendy Cosmetics Beautiful Flat Brush Stiff. It is made of quality natural hair and it makes putting eyeshadow (creamy and powder) on your lid a breeze. I really love this brush and have been using it everyday since I have received it.
The first skincare product I tried was the Skin&Co Roma Sicilian Light Serum. This serum is said to correct imperfections while softening and tightening skin with collagen-boosting active ingredients. The serum felt really good on my skin but like I have said before it’s hard to tell if it really does what it says it will do with such a small sample size. You really need to use a skin care product for a month to see if it does what it claims. The jury is still out on this one.
Kueshi Revitalizing Face Toner was one of the full size items and I was so excited to try it out. I love this toner from the smell to the way it feels on my skin. It has a blend of liquid moisturizers like aloe leaf and flower extracts and is designed to control shine in oily-prone areas and soften dry spots. I really love this toner and when I run out I will definitely purchase a new bottle.
I hope you’ve enjoyed this review. In this months box I received 3 full size items and 2 samples totaling over $55.00. This box is $21.00 per month so you definitely get your money’s worth. Plus for every friend you refer that joins and every review you give on their website you get Glossy Points which add up and you’ll eventually get a free box. If you are interested in signing up click on this link http://www.glossybox.com/referal?CI=MTIxOTQx. The February box is just as good. I’ll be reviewing that one shortly.
